Self-assessment is important in the process of finding a career, and self-understanding is critical in being matched with careers. Career Services offers the Career Coach Assessment. This assessment helps students explore career options, take responsibility for their education and career planning, and engage in activities that support career development. All Shelton State students will take this assessment during the Orientation to College class.
Students should investigate career options. Information should be gathered about industry and individual employers. In this process, students will discover networking opportunities, learn industry jargon and history, and explore future opportunities for growth.
Career planning begins as soon as a student arrives at Shelton State. Our Career Action Plan provides some of the yearly steps students should implement. This plan can help you meet career goals.
