Mission Statement

The mission of Shelton State’s Testing and Assessment Services is to provide opportunities for students to meet their educational goals by offering assessments for course placement, program acceptance, and/or college admittance, and offer other exam services in an environment conducive to productive testing. Testing center staff consistently strives to adhere not only to the mission of the College, but also to the highest professional standards and guidelines set forth by the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

Testing Centers are located on the Martin Campus in Room 1826 and on the Fredd Campus. These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to provide computer-based, as well as paper and pencil testing, in a secure environment.

The Testing & Assessment Centers offer a variety of testing services.

Your skill level in reading, writing, and math must be determined for appropriate course placement.

General Policies

  • All students must show an official, current, photo ID in order to test.
  • All fees must be paid in the Cashier’s Offices on the Martin or Fredd Campus. The Cashier’s Offices are open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
  • Cell phones may not be used in the Testing Centers.
  • Children are not allowed in the Testing Centers.
  • With prior approval from the Office of Disability Services, testing is available for students with disabilities.
