International Transfer Student Required Documents

• Submit Shelton State application online.
• Submit a current and valid copy of your visa and passport.
• Submit a copy of your I-94 (front and back). Electronic copies of the I-94 are acceptable from https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94.
• Submit official transcripts from secondary school (high school) completion.
  • High school transcripts are required to be evaluated and translated into English if graduated from outside of the United States. If you are from an English-speaking country or region, and your transcripts are already in English, they still must be evaluated for U.S. High School Equivalency.
  • The following evaluation companies translate and evaluate high school and college documents:

• Submit official transcripts from all US institutions attended.
• Submit a copy of your current Form I-20.
• Submit the Financial Affidavit of Support Form along with an official statement(s) from a financial institution documenting the ability to pay the costs of attendance. The Financial Affidavit of Support Form must be completed and signed by each individual contributing financially to the applicant’s education. The minimum amounts below must be reflected:
  • $28,000 USD
  • If applicable, a minimum of $3,600 USD is required in addition to the above amount for each dependent.
• Submit the Immunization Form documenting medical health history and proof of vaccination.
• Submit a receipt of payment of the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee.
• Submit proof of adequate accident, sickness, and life insurance that includes evacuation repatriation. Students must maintain insurance coverage throughout the duration of their I-20. International students who do not have the proper insurance must purchase a health insurance policy through the College. Students will be required to pay for one semester of coverage at the time of registration.
• Submit the Transfer Recommendation Form. The form should be completed by your current PDSO/DSO and returned to Shelton State via email or fax.
  • Shelton State does not accept terminated or completed SEVIS records.
• Submit the I-20 Student Information and Request Form.
• Submit the International Student Contact Information Form.

The final decision for acceptance of international students who have met the preceding conditions will be made by the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO). An official acceptance letter and Form I-20 will not be provided until all requirements have been met and all documents have been received.

NOTE: Please submit all completed forms, documents, and supporting documentation in one email. DO NOT send separate documents in different emails. Submitting incomplete information could lead to the loss of documents and delays in processing. Please only submit your information when you have all documents ready.
