Shelton State Days

Welcome to Shelton State Community College (SSCC)! The selection of a college is one of the most important decisions you will make. We are excited you have chosen Shelton State. Shelton State Days are designed to introduce incoming first time freshmen to Shelton State Community College and to ease the transition into college. The session will be an exciting opportunity for you, and it will be your first experience of what it is like to be a student on campus.

The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff remain our top priority.  The College Emergency Response Team (CERT) is meeting regularly to review and monitor the COVID-19/Coronavirus outbreak and is following recommendations from the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

At Shelton State Days, students will accomplish the following:

  • Connect with other incoming students and families.
  • Develop new and lasting friendships.
  • Engage with current college students.
  • Meet SSCC faculty and staff.
  • Learn about various resources and services.
  • Select and register for courses with educational planners.

How to sign up for Shelton State Days

*Students who are invited to Shelton State Days are recent (2023) or prior year (2022) high school graduates.

 

  1. Apply for admission.
  2. Review the Shelton State Days dates and locations below.
  3. Check your email for the Shelton State Days invitation. Follow the steps in the email or log into your Application Portal (you created a username and password for this at the time of application).
  4. Click on the “myEvents” tab.
  5. Select Event Type: “Orientation”
  6. Select a date and time that best fits your schedule.
  7. Check your email for a confirmation email.
  8. Monitor your email regularly for instructions leading up to the event date!
