Shelton State Community College offers career technical pathways, health services options, and academic transfer course options. SSCC meets students where they are then takes them where they want to be. With a broad diversity of students and possibilities, SSCC integrates pieces and parts of a person’s experience for a one-of-a-kind fit.

Shelton State Days are designed to introduce incoming first-time freshmen to Shelton State Community College and ease the transition into college. The session will be an exciting opportunity for students, and it will be their first on-campus experience. Students will register for classes during their Shelton State Day.

Yes, guest(s) are welcome to attend Shelton State Days. Shelton State Day events for parents and family members run concurrently with Shelton State Day events for students. It is important to note that these are separate, and students and guests attend separate sessions.

No. Space is limited during the advising and registration session. The session provides the student and advisor an opportunity to discuss course selection and build a student/advisor partnership.

Virtual Shelton State Day sessions will run simultaneously with face-to-face sessions. Once a student registers for a Shelton State Day, they will receive an email with the virtual link and instructions for joining their selected session.

Students should first sign in to their myShelton account. They may then view their account balance on myShelton under Student Account Detail and select Pay Now. Bills and balances can be viewed on myShelton under Student Account Detail.

The scholarship deadline is March 1, however, Shelton State offers other means of financial assistance.  For more information, visit https://www.sheltonstate.edu/admissions-financial-aid/financial-aid/.

It is not too late to apply for financial aid.   The financial aid application can be found by visiting https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid, and application is FREE! FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) help sessions are available the first Wednesday of each month on the Martin Campus in Enrollment Services.

Yes. Students should sign in to their myShelton account to view their assigned advisor’s name and contact information.  If an advisor is not assigned, the student should contact advising@sheltonstate.edu to request additional information.

Yes, SSCC fully supports and complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The College offers assistance with accommodations such as information accessibility, reduced distraction testing, extended test time, sign language interpreting, and classroom accessibility. No, tutoring services are free for students. SOAR (Student Opportunities for Achievement and Resources) offers services such as computer lab usage, Smarthinking Online Tutoring available 24/7, Placement Test Help Sessions, Technology Basics, Mathematics and Writing Workshops, and much more.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords certain rights to students concerning privacy of and access to their educational records. Students may choose to complete and submit this form allowing release of their education records to specified third parties.
