Electrical Vehicle Training

Shelton State Community College is proud to partner with the Alabama Energy Infrastructure Training Center and Network (AEITCN) to offer courses to prepare individuals for careers in EV battery related jobs. We are preparing the workforce for the electric transportation revolution. Our Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Program delivers practical, safety-focused instruction across key segments of the EV charging and service ecosystem, helping students and professionals’ step confidently into one of the fastest-growing sectors in the energy industry.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Level 2 Charger Diagnostics

Master the fundamentals of EVSE inspection and commissioning. Learn to test and validate residential and commercial Level 2 chargers using industry-standard diagnostic tools, ensuring safe and code-compliant installations from day one.

 

Level 2 Charger Troubleshooting

Go beyond installation with hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving charger faults. Develop the skills to trace wiring errors, test protective systems, and interpret error codes to get chargers back online quickly and safely.

 

Level 3 Charger Servicing

Explore the high-powered future of charging. Train on the unique safety protocols, cooling systems, and maintenance procedures required for DC fast charging equipment used at fleet depots, transit hubs, and public corridors.

 

Battery Technology

Understand the heart of the electric vehicle. Study battery chemistries, thermal management, state-of-charge monitoring, and safety systems. Learn how batteries interact with EVSE infrastructure and how to test and handle them safely.

 

ASE L3 Prep

Prepare for the nationally recognized ASE L3 certification in hybrid and electric vehicle systems. This course offers in-depth study and practice questions, aligned with ASE domains and structured to help you pass — and perform — with confidence.
