Theatre Tuscaloosa to Announce 56th Season at “Curtain Up” Event
April 8, 2026 – Theatre Tuscaloosa will announce the shows and events of its 2026-27 season at “Curtain Up,” a special preview event, on Thursday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre at Shelton State Community College (9500 Old Greensboro Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405).
“Curtain Up” will feature scenes and performances drawn from or representing each of the plays, musicals, and special events, that make up Theatre Tuscaloosa’s 56th season.
“We’re excited to be announcing our season in this way for the first time,” said Executive Producer Michael Walker. “We’re thrilled to be launching our 2026-27 together with a full house of excited Theatre Tuscaloosa supporters!”
The event will feature a special preshow VIP reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres in the Wilson Carr Rehearsal Hall, a multi-gift-basket fundraiser in the lobby, and a one-hour preview performance in the Bean-Brown Theatre.
Tickets for “Curtain Up” are available at two levels. The standard admission ($25 each) includes access to the gift basket fundraiser and standard seating for the performance. The VIP admission ($40 each) also includes access to the preshow reception and preferred seating for the performance. Everyone attending “Curtain Up” will have an opportunity to order season tickets ahead of the general public at the event.
The preshow reception begins at 6:30 p.m. for VIP attendees, the theatre doors will open at 7:00 p.m., and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and more information are available at www.theatretusc.com or 205.391.2277.
