Shelton State’s @theDome Introduces New Programming

March 20, 2018 – Shelton State Community College’s @theDome summer 2018 programming will introduce new educational opportunities. In addition to already popular camps and workshops, this year’s summer lineup will also include the brand new STEM Academy and ACT prep classes. Registration is available now.

In the new STEM Academy, student participants will learn critical science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts that meet National Science Standards. The STEM Academy will reinforce and add to previously learned classroom skills and concepts. Each teacher will work with students on an individual basis to provide instruction and continued learning opportunities.

ACT prep classes are offered to current high school juniors, seniors, returning high school graduates, and GED recipients. This instructor-led class is designed to help students learn successful testing strategies, improve confidence, and lower testing anxiety. Students will have access to sample test questions and study guides while receiving in-depth instruction. Space is limited.

A College-wide program, @theDome serves as the primary designation and information source for all Shelton State K-12 outreach camps and programs. With opportunities also available in athletics, theatre, LEGO engineering, and cosmetology, @theDome programs are designed to accommodate all ages and a wide variety of interests.
