Shelton State Visual Arts Hosts High School Student Art Show

Student Art Showcase

October 17, 2022 – Now through November 18, Shelton State Community College’s Visual Arts Department will host a student art show for high school students from the Tuscaloosa Fine Arts Academy (TFAA) and The Alberta School of Performing Arts (TASPA). The exhibition appears in the Martin Campus Cadence Bank Art Gallery with a special reception on November 10 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for student artists and their families.   Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public.

“As the Alabama Community College of the Fine Arts, Shelton State is proud to provide opportunities for the talented youth in our community to share their artistic visions,” said Carson Grubaugh, the College’s award-winning art instructor. “This new collaboration with TFAA and TASPA is the perfect opportunity for the Tuscaloosa community to celebrate and encourage the voices of our future. I hope every member of our community can find time to stop by our campus and enjoy the artworks these students have produced.”

The Cadence Bank Art Gallery, located on the Martin Campus, showcases a changing series of exhibitions of local, regional, and national artists. The Gallery is open during the College’s regular business hours.
