October 9, 2023  – Beginning Wednesday, October 11, Shelton State Community College’s Visual Arts Department will host a student art show for high school students from the Tuscaloosa Fine Arts Academy (TFAA) and The Alberta School of Performing Arts (TASPA). The exhibition will be in the Martin Campus Cadence Bank Art Gallery with a special reception on November 9 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for student artists and their families.   The exhibition will conclude on Thursday, November 16. Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public.

“As the Alabama Community College of the Fine Arts, Shelton State is excited to once again serve as host for the talented youth in our community to share their artistic visions,” said Carson Grubaugh, the College’s award-winning art instructor. “Our ongoing collaboration with TFAA and TASPA provides an opportunity for West Alabama to celebrate and encourage its up-and-coming artists. This is always a special event, and we look forward to sharing it with our community.”

The Cadence Bank Art Gallery, located on the Martin Campus, showcases a changing series of exhibitions of local, regional, and national artists. The Gallery is open during the College’s regular business hours.
