Shelton State to Host Fall Preview Events on Fredd and Martin Campuses
October 30, 2023 – Shelton State Community College will offer previews of all health services and technical programs on the Fredd and Martin Campuses. Interested students may register at Shelton State Preview Night Events 2023 by searching their selected campus.
Preview Night on the Fredd Campus will be held on Tuesday, November 14 at 6:00 p.m. Preview Night on the Martin Campus will be Thursday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m. As a complimentary meal will be provided for guests on both campuses, registration is encouraged. Check-in for each event will begin at 5:30 p.m.
As Tuscaloosa’s community college, Shelton State provides career opportunities and a true college town experience. Opportunities are available in various technical and health services programs on both campuses. Programs at the Martin Campus include air conditioning and refrigeration, business office management and technology, computerized numerical control, diesel mechanics, electrical technology, engineering graphics and design technology, nursing, industrial electronics, industrial maintenance, machine tool technology, modern manufacturing, salon and spa management, welding, and wellness. Programs at the Fredd Campus include automotive service technology, child development, computer science, culinary arts, health information technology, medical laboratory technician, and respiratory therapy.
“Shelton State’s preview events have proven invaluable to incoming students,” said TJ Smith, Director of Recruitment. “Many arrive not only unsure about how to focus their career path, but they also are unaware of the many high-demand, high-wage career possibilities in West Alabama. At preview events, questions are answered to the benefit of both students and our community.”
In addition to learning more about career opportunities, guests will be able to apply for admission to the College, receive financial aid and scholarship information, and discover more about student engagement at Shelton State.
