Shelton State Terrific Tuesday Concert Series to Host “Americans in Paris”

Terrific Tuesday Concert Series

February 23, 2018 – Shelton State Community College’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will host “Americans in Paris” on Tuesday, February 27 at 1:00 p.m. in the Alabama Power Recital Hall on the Martin Campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

In “Americans in Paris,” pianist Jonathan Levin and soprano Kathleen Buccleugh will take the audience on a musical voyage to Paris and beyond, exploring the vast musical influences of this magical city on musical artists from the romantic generation to the present and how their work affected American musical culture. The program includes timeless favorites of Debussy, Liszt, and Berlioz, as well as thrilling solo songs and piano works of American composers.

Shelton State’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series is designed to showcase a variety of repertory styles. Weekly performances are offered by guest artists as well as Shelton State faculty and students.
