Shelton State Hosts Family/Group Daycare Information Session

February 9, 2026 – Shelton State Community College and Tuscaloosa One Place will host an information session for those interested in obtaining a license as a family or group daycare home.  The free session through Connecting Commerce to Care will be held on Wednesday, February 11 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Synergic Center in Northport, Alabama, at 3650 5^th Street.

Connecting Commerce to Care is a new program under the Community Childcare Coordinator umbrella. The program will provide training aimed at helping participants establish new, licensed, high-quality family or group daycare homes.

A future information session will address necessary requirements for establishing a childcare center.
