Shelton State Esports Competing in 2025 NJCAAE Tournament

March 6, 2025  – The Shelton State Community College (SSCC) Esports team is set to begin its sixth year of competition. This season, Shelton State Esports boasts more than thirty players competing in nine game titles. SSCC is a National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) member and will compete in their tournaments in addition to freelance tourneys. Team captains are Sean Sanford, Emily West, Noah Yarbrough, Alex Platonov, Hayden Norstrom, and Kyle Gillison.

 

The NJCAAE tournament is organized into three tiers of competition. Competition began February 24 with SSCC teams competing in nine regular season game titles in tier three: CoD: Warzone, Counter-Strike 2, Marvel Rivals, Rocket League, Smash Ultimate, Street Fighter, Team Fight Tactics, Tekken, and Valorant. Additional tournaments on the docket include iRacing, CoD: Mobile, and Clash Royale.
