Shelton State Community College’s @theDome Hosts Spring Break LEGO Camp

Spring Break LEGO Camp

February 25, 2020 – Shelton State Community College will host @theDome programming during spring break with Lego Engineering Camp. The camp will be Monday, March 16 through Thursday, March 19 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the Martin Campus. Students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to attend. The cost per attendee is $160.00, and registration is available now.

Student participants will learn critical science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts that meet National Science Standards. Camp sessions will reinforce and add to previously learned classroom skills and concepts. Each is facilitated by certified instructors who create a fun, hands-on environment for learning.

“Lego Engineering Camp is a great experience for children because it allows them to work in an environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and the ability to freely experiment with the engineering process,” said Beth Rominger from Shelton State’s Office of Instructional Outreach. “We have high school student who have been with us since elementary school. They have created a bond with other builders and look forward to seeing their friends again right here on our campus.”

A College-wide program, @theDome serves as the primary designation and information source for all Shelton State K-12 outreach camps and programs. Programs are designed to accommodate all ages and a wide variety of interests.

Upcoming summer camps and activities will include athletics, LEGO and robotics engineering, theatre, and more. Registration for summer 2020 programs @theDome will be available in March.
