Shelton State Community College’s Theatre Department to Present “Dinner With Friends” April 8 – 10

Shelton State Community College Theatre Department Presents Dinner with Friends

April 6, 2022 – Shelton State Community College’s Theatre Department is presenting the drama Dinner with Friends by Donald Margulies April 8-10 in the Wilson Carr Rehearsal Hall on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College (9500 Old Greensboro Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405).

Dinner with Friends is a Pulitzer Prize winning comedy-drama about two married couples who have been best friends for years. In their Connecticut home, Karen and Gabe are giving a dinner for Beth and Tom, which Tom does not attend.  When Beth reveals that she and Tom are getting a divorce, Gabe and Karen are almost as crushed and then begin to question the strength of their own seemingly tranquil marriage.  The play challenges audiences to reflect on the inevitable changes that affect our relationships over the course of a lifetime, whether we want them to or not.

Dinner with Friends is directed by the Theatre Department head, Tina Turley, and the cast is composed of students currently enrolled at Shelton State Community College including Hayley Bush, Samuel Hodo, Emma Tolbert, Danilo Mejia, and Ebony Wesley.

Performances will be held in the Wilson Carr Rehearsal Hall on April 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and on April 10 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students.  This show is not recommended for those under 15 years of age due to language and adult content.

Tickets and information about the show are available at www.theatretusc.com or at 205.391.2277.
