Concert of Spirituals on March 6

February 14, 2022 – Shelton State Community College’s Shelton Singers will present a concert of spirituals on Sunday, March 6 at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa.  The concert is free, and all are invited to attend.

 

The Shelton Singers will be joined at the concert by former Shelton Singers.  These alumni soloists will perform alongside the group in presenting spirituals from composers that include Jeffrey Ames, Andre Thomas, Hall Johnson, Arnold Sevier, H.T. Burleigh, and William Henry Smith.

 

“We are excited to combine the talents of our current and former students in presenting this music,” shared Dr. J.F. Mark Brown, Shelton State Music Instructor.  “This concert presents a terrific learning opportunity for the members of our choir, while also offering a wonderful evening of entertainment.”
