Shelton State Community College Workforce Development Offers New Courses

Excel for Workplace

April 17, 2019 – Shelton State Community College’s Workforce Development will offer new courses for those interested in learning more about Excel 2016. “Excel 2016 for the Workplace” is available in two course levels for those with limited skills or for those who wish to increase their current ability. Both courses will be held at Shelton State’s Martin Campus in room 1914a of the Workforce Development area.

 

Excel 2016 Level 1 will be held on May 15 and 16 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Participants will learn the basics of creating and maintaining basic spreadsheets. Level 2 participants will learn advanced workbook formatting, date functions and conditional formatting, advanced functions for text and analysis, and lookup functions and outlines. The Level 2 course will meet on May 20 and 21 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

 

“In offering these courses, we hope to fulfill a specific need in the workplace,” said Margie Falls, Shelton State Corporate Training and Community Education Manager. “These courses are designed for both the employers and their employees, so we encourage anyone to register and take their skill set to the next level.”

 

Shelton State’s Workforce Development provides training and improves the professional skills of West Alabama workers. The area seeks to enhance the region’s economic stability and increase job opportunities for community members.
