Shelton State Community College Welcomes Back Terrific Tuesday Concert Series for April 2022

Terrific Tuesday

March 28, 2022 – Shelton State Community College’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will make its return during the month of April for a series of special performances.  Closed to the public for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, this abbreviated series will be held April 5, 12, and 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Alabama Power Recital Hall on the Martin Campus.  Admission is free and open to the public for all Terrific Tuesday concerts.

 

The April Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will feature the artists listed below.

 

April 5 – Studio 106

Studio 106 is a group of commercial music students from the Fine Arts Academy at Paul W. Bryant High School. They will be presenting a performance entitled “Music Industries” and are under the direction of Thomas Furlough and Michelle McDonald.

 

April 12 – Student Voice Recital, Sydney Galloway, mezzo-soprano

Sydney Galloway’s vocal recital will feature art songs, folk songs, and musical theatre selections. Sydney has recently received a music scholarship from The University of Alabama in Birmingham to study music.

 

April 19 – Student Instrumental Recital, Oskar Trejo, French horn

Oskar Trejo will be performing his degree recital. As a music major, Oskar has spent his time at Shelton State studying the horn. Selections for his recital will span from music written during the Classical Era to Twentieth-Century compositions. He will showcase horn music by composers such as Eugene Bozza, W. A. Mozart, Aaron Copland, and more.

 

Shelton State’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series is designed to showcase a variety of repertory styles.  Weekly performances are offered by guest artists as well as Shelton State faculty and students.
