Shelton State Community College Visual Arts Students to Return to First Friday Event

March 25, 2022 – Following the success of last month’s event, Shelton State Community College’s visual arts students will showcase their work at Turbo Coffee on Friday, April 1 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. as part of Tuscaloosa’s First Friday event.  The event is free to attend, however, student art will be available for purchase.  Turbo Coffee is located in downtown Tuscaloosa at 2010 8th Street.

Halle Jenkins, a current visual arts student and employee at Turbo Coffee, coordinated efforts again in April for Shelton State students.  She indicated that last month’s event proved to be lucrative for her peers and many reached out for this additional opportunity.  “I’ve had a lot of artists reach out, so this event will showcase quite a few new pieces,” she stated.

While the First Friday event is limited to one evening, the student’s artwork will remain on display throughout the month of April at Turbo Coffee.
