Shelton State Community College Training Students for National Credential in Carpentry

May 10, 2018 – Utilizing curriculum from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER), Shelton State is training students for a national credential in carpentry. Available training for summer 2018 begins June 4 on Shelton State’s C.A. Fredd Campus.

 

The Shelton State carpentry program will use a combination of classroom and shop projects to help students gain in-depth knowledge of building construction. The program uses NCCER Curriculum including core curriculum and fundamentals of carpentry. Classes will help students gain knowledge in safety, terminology, materials, and tools used daily in the field. Upon course completion, students will receive a national credential.

 

The carpentry courses, taught through Shelton State’s Training for Business and Industry, are approved by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). For more information, contact Margie Falls at 205.391.2434 or mfalls@sheltonstate.edu.
