Shelton State Community College to Welcome Contemporary Jazz Artist to Sixth Annual West Alabama High School Jazz Festival

Shelton State Community College

March 6, 2025 – Shelton State Community College will host the Sixth Annual West Alabama High School Jazz Festival featuring contemporary jazz artist Aubrey Logan on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Per tradition, the festival will be a full day event starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the College’s Martin Campus. Free and open to the public, the day’s festivities will conclude with a finale concert featuring the Shelton State Jazz Ensemble and Aubrey Logan.

Aubrey Logan is a trombone-playing singer-songwriter known for her unique blend of jazz, soul, and pop. Raised near Seattle by music-educator parents, she was influenced early on by artists like Billy Joel, Carole King, and American horn bands Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire. Logan’s passion for jazz ignited when she first picked up the trombone at age 12.

Logan is an alumna of Berklee College of Music and winner of the prestigious Shure Montreux Voice competition. In addition, Logan has also earned recognition as a top trombonist by Downbeat magazine. She has toured globally with artists like Dave Koz and Postmodern Jukebox while also performing with major orchestras such as the Seattle Symphony and Boston Pops. Known for her humor and charming stage presence, Logan often parodies jazz culture and social media trends.

Her accolades include a #1 spot on the Billboard contemporary jazz chart with Dave Koz’s From A to Z and success with her own album Where the Sunshine is Expensive. Now based in Austin, TX, she continues to perform, educate, and expand her artistry.

All performances are free and open to the public, including the finale concert.
