June 8, 2021 – There are nearly 900 open software developer jobs in the state of Alabama with an average salary ranging from $75,000 and $95,000. Shelton State will be offering coding and data engineering bootcamps powered by Promineo Tech to help fill these positions and enhance the tech workforce in Alabama. The bootcamp programs prepare students to fill entry-level roles such as Java Developer, Software Engineer, Back End Developer, Application Developer, Front End Developer, Data Engineers, Python Programmers, and Business Intelligence Developers.

“There is great demand for software developers in our area, and we are delighted to partner with Promineo Tech to deliver specialized training to fill these positions,” noted Nicole DuBose, Director of Training for Business and Industry at Shelton State. “These courses are perfect for people seeking to increase skills in their current positions or looking to transition to a new career altogether.”

Bootcamp learning is an accelerated track to a career in technology. The bootcamps offered at Shelton State are career focused and help to train the adult learner with the skills and technologies that they need to fill the open roles in the IT industry.

“We’re very excited to partner with Shelton State Community College to bring coding and technology bootcamp programs to the state that are affordable.” said Nick Suwyn, President of Promineo Tech. “Everyone should have the opportunity to explore careers in technology if that’s their desire, and these programs will help make that possible.”

Shelton State will offer Front End Software Development, Back End Software Development and Data Engineering bootcamps starting in July. The virtual classroom encourages real connections between students, instructors, mentors and industry professionals to help facilitate their learning and navigate their career path. The weekly learning happens in 1.5 hours of live, personally-tailored micro-lectures, and an additional 13-18 hours of self paced work which accommodates the schedule of a full time workload.

Increasing the accessibility of tech education is pivotal in this time where there is a growing demand for tech talent. Shelton State Coding Bootcamps offer financing options through Climb Credit to provide educational opportunities for a larger portion of the workforce.

Enrollment for July, August and September cohorts are currently live.
