Shelton State Community College to Host Inaugural Collegiate® 100 Awards Gala

February 22, 2024 – Shelton State Community College (SSCC), in partnership with 100 Black Men of West Alabama, Inc. (100 BMOWA), will host its inaugural Collegiate 100® Awards Gala on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. on the College’s Martin Campus. Tickets and sponsorships for the black-tie event are available for purchase by visiting 100 BMOWA.

 

Jabaree Prewitt, WVUA 23 Evening News Anchor, will be the emcee for the night.

 

Proceeds will support the Collegiate 100 chapters sponsored by the 100 BMOWA and the efforts of the 100 BMOWA to bring awareness to the Four for the Future pillars focusing on mentoring, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment to local K-12 students while celebrating the accomplishments of chapter members.

 

“We’re excited about the partnership between Shelton State Community College and the 100 Black Men of West Alabama, Inc., to expose the work of our collegiate chapters to the community and expand our efforts,” said Eric Prewitt, SSCC’s Collegiate 100® sponsor. “This event is just the beginning of what is to come as our chapters are making a difference in the lives of future leaders within our city and county schools.”
