Shelton State Community College to Host Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees Meeting and Community Reception

May 25, 2022 – A proud member of the Alabama Community College System (ACCS), Shelton State Community College will host the ACCS June Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus.

 

Community guests and members of the media are invited to attend the meeting and remain on campus for a reception immediately following.

 

The Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees plays a critical role in the education of hundreds of thousands of adults each year.  The Trustees serve as guardians for the Systems’ mission and goals, with the Governor serving as chair of the Board by virtue of elected office.  Meeting monthly, board member duties include designating rules and regulations for system colleges; prescribing the course of study to be offered and the conditions for granting certificates, diplomas, and degrees; accepting gifts and donation for System colleges; and establishing a performance-based allocation process that is equitable and compatible with services and programs offered by each individual campus.
