August 24, 2023 – Building on recent success, Shelton State Community College will continue its Existing Industry Training Program (EITP) in partnership with the Regional Workforce Councils (RWC) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Using EITP funds, businesses can train and upskill their existing workforce at little to no cost.

Participating businesses can receive up to $15,000 for training projects specific to the company or the needs of specific employees.

“This funding is easily attainable and can be used to provide almost any training needed,” shared Nicole DuBose, Shelton State’s Director of Workforce Development. “In the past, we’ve used funds for training that ranged from conflict resolution to workplace Spanish and most everything in between. If companies have specific needs, we can meet them.”

In recent months, BFGoodrich participated in the EITP, which aimed to assist Alabama employers in providing skills upgrade training for full-time, permanent employees. Twenty-four employees at BFGoodrich received supervisory training that included conflict resolution, workplace communication, team building, and more. The program enhanced workplace skills and increased the company’s competitiveness.
