Shelton State Community College Terrific Tuesday Concert Series to Feature Lopez & Tabor Duo

Terrific Tuesday Concert Series

September 14, 2018 – Shelton State Community College’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will feature a program by the Lopez and Tabor Duo on Tuesday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m. in the Martin Campus Alabama Power Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

 

This varied program will be divided into two parts separated by an intermission. The first part will consist of a Sonata by Beethoven, the No. 3 in E-flat Major, composed in the last years of the eighteenth century, followed by some pieces by the American, George Gershwin. The second part of the program will be dedicated to music with a Hispanic influence.

 

Alfonso Lopez is the concertmaster of the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra and has performed in Spain, Italy, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. Dr. Michelle Tabor has pursued her research interests in Latin American art music of the twentieth century at various conferences and competitions and currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida.

 

Shelton State’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series is designed to showcase a variety of repertory styles. Weekly performances are offered by guest artists as well as Shelton State faculty and students.
