Shelton State Community College Terrific Tuesday Concert Series Hosts Luvada A. Harrison

Terrific Tuesday Concert Series

November 8, 2018 – Shelton State Community College’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will host Luvada A. Harrison on Tuesday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Martin Campus Alabama Power Recital Hall. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

 

Soprano Luvada A. Harrison enjoys a varied and distinguished academic and performing career. She has performed with regional opera companies and symphony orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. As an arts educator, Dr. Harrison has worked with the education departments of the New York City Opera, the Metropolitan Opera Guild, and “Meet the Artist” at Lincoln Center. Locally, she has been a featured soloist with the Tuscaloosa Symphony.

 

She is a graduate of Florida State University where she was University Fellow. Dr. Harrison is a member of Pi Kappa Lamda National Music Honor Society, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Music Teachers National Association. She serves as the Chair for the Department of Fine Arts at Stillman College where she was the 2011-2012 recipient of the Joseph A. Gore Faculty Merit Award for excellence in teaching.

 

Shelton State’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series is designed to showcase a variety of repertory styles. Weekly performances are offered by guest artists as well as Shelton State faculty and students.
