Shelton State Community College Students Recognized at ALANATS

February 28, 2022 – Shelton State Community College (SSCC) music students recently competed at the Alabama Chapter of the National Association of Teacher of Singing (ALANATS) auditions.  These auditions are held annually for singers from high school divisions, as well as from two and four-year colleges, and two Shelton State students were selected to compete in the finals of their categories.

 

Kazarious Brown placed second in the Men’s Third Year Musical Theatre Division and Sophia Allen placed second in the Women’s Second Year Musical Theatre Division.

 

“Shelton State is the only two-year college to regularly participate in these prestigious auditions,” stated Dr. J.F. Mark Brown, SSCC music instructor.  “We are proud of the way our students competed, and we congratulate Kazarious and Sophia on their outstanding performances!”
