Shelton State Community College Students Perform at Carnegie Hall

May 31, 2019 – Music students from Shelton State Community College traveled to New York City May 23 through May 27 to participate in the annual Two Year College Festival Chorus. Now in its 20^th year, the Festival is sponsored by Manhattan Concert Productions and occurs in Carnegie Hall.

The students’ appearance marks the College’s 10^th performance at the Festival. Since its inception, Shelton State is the only two year college whose choir has received an invitation.

“We look forward to attending many more festivals and providing a once in a lifetime experience for many of our singers,” states Dr. J.F. Mark Brown, Shelton State Music Instructor. “We are very grateful for the support of the College and the many individuals who contribute to the Shelton State Foundation and help make this trip possible.”
