Shelton State Community College Offers Manufacturing Skills Standard Council Certification

June 7, 2018 – Shelton State Community College (SSCC) will offer an online Fast Track Manufacturing Skills Standard Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) program for individuals who have a minimum of two years of manufacturing experience. This program will provide opportunities to “skill up” in preparation for obtaining employment in the manufacturing field.

 

The MSSC-CPT Online Fast Track will be held on Monday, June 11 at the Martin Campus Center for Workforce Development. Participants may attend one of the following sessions: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Successful completion of the program will include a CPT credential.

 

The College will also offer day and evening boot camps for recent high school graduates that will provide opportunities to “skill up” in preparation for obtaining employment in manufacturing. A day option boot camp begins on Monday, June 18 and runs through Friday, July 27. (Classes will not be held the week of July 2.) Classes will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. An evening option boot camp begins on Monday, June 18 and runs through Friday, August 31. (Classes will not be held the week of July 2.) Classes will be Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

 

The boot camps will encompass a combination of Ready to Work (RTW) and Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) modules. Successful completion of the boot camp program will include a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) and Certified Production Technical (CPT) credentials.
