Shelton State Community College Hosts Virtual Preview Events

October 5, 2020 – Shelton State Community College will offer virtual previews of all technical and health services programs. Health Services Virtual Preview Night will be held on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m. Technical Programs Virtual Preview Night will be Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00 p.m. Both events are free, and anyone interested in becoming a Shelton State student is encouraged to register.

As Tuscaloosa’s community college, Shelton State provides career opportunities and a true college town experience. Opportunities are available in various technical and health services programs on both campuses. Programs at the Martin Campus include air conditioning and refrigeration, business office management and technology, computerized numerical control, diesel mechanics, electrical technology, engineering graphics and design technology, nursing, industrial electronics, industrial maintenance, machine tool technology, salon and spa management, welding, wellness, and the brand new modern manufacturing program. Programs at the Fredd Campus include automotive service technology, child development, computer science, culinary arts, health information technology, and respiratory therapy.

“Despite unusual circumstances, our faculty and staff have created a virtual look inside each of our programs,” said TJ Smith, Director of Recruitment. “We are actually quite excited about this new format, and we look forward to sharing it and countless opportunities with potential students.”

Guests of the virtual event will still be able to apply for admission to the College, receive financial aid and scholarship information, and register to win a full-tuition scholarship waiver. To register, visit sheltonstate.edu/preview.
