Shelton State Community College Homecoming 2019 Activities Scheduled for February 4-9

January 28, 2019 – Homecoming activities at Shelton State Community College are scheduled for February 4-9, 2019. The celebratory week will culminate with SSCC women’s and men’s basketball games and include the crowning of the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen at halftime of the men’s basketball game.

On Saturday, February 9, Shelton State will take on Wallace-Hanceville Community College in the Martin Campus Gymnasium with the Lady Bucs’ tipoff at 2:00 p.m. and the Bucs following at 4:00 p.m.

In addition to Saturday’s games and festivities, Homecoming activities open to the public include Movie Day on Tuesday, February 5 at 4:00 p.m. in the Martin Campus Atrium and the Poetry Groove on Wednesday, February 6 at 4:00 p.m. in the Martin Campus D-Rooms. Tuesday’s Movie Day is sponsored by Pride of Tuscaloosa and will feature a free showing of “The Avengers – Infinity Wars.” Wednesday’s free Poetry Groove will feature spoken artist Kevil Tice.

“Homecoming is one of our favorite events of the year at Shelton State,” states NorQuina Rieves, SSCC Student Engagement Coordinator. “We look forward to seeing former and current students join the fun with their families and loved ones.”

SSCC’s Athletic Director, Cara Crosslin, echoes Rieves’ excitement. “There is no better time to showcase the talents of our student athletes than at Homecoming!”
