Shelton State Community College Esports Ready for New Season

January 5, 2022 – With a new coach and a new year, Shelton State Community College Esports is making plans for another successful season.

An interest meeting for potential team members will be held at the College’s Martin Campus D-Rooms on Tuesday, January 25 at 3:00 p.m.  Requirements for consideration include status as a full-time student, a 2.0 GPA, and access to personal gaming equipment.

Esports sponsor Elena Hodgson is excited about the upcoming season of play.  “With registration for the spring semester still open, it is not too late for interested gamers and casters to consider enrolling and being part of our team,” she stated.  “Shelton State Esports is constantly growing and improving, and we are always excited when new students join us on this journey.” In addition to players, Hodgson indicated the need for casters to grow the team’s Twitch presence.

Joining Hodgson at the helm of the Esports team is new coach Jackson Gaido.  As a previous team member, Gaido knows the potential of the program.  “With the ability to compete and achieve goals, we hope people will join us in building this next generation of athletics,” he said.
