Shelton State Community College Esports Enters Fourth Year of Competition

October 8, 2024 – The Shelton State Community College (SSCC) Esports team has begun its fourth year of competition. Team captains for the fall are Kyle Gillison, McLandon Hunt, Alex Medders, and Ethan Schulte.

 

This season, Shelton State boasts over twenty players who will compete in more than ten game titles. SSCC Esports is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) and will compete in association tournaments, as well as freelance tourneys for titles of interest to its members.

 

NJCAAE tournament play is organized into three tiers of competition. Competition began October 1 with SSCC teams competing in ten game titles in tier three: CoD Warzone, Fortnite, NBA 2k, Madden, Mario Kart, Rainbow 6: Siege, Smash Ultimate, Team Fight Tactics, Tekken, and Valorant. Additional tournaments on the docket include iRacing, CoD: Mobile, and Clash Royale.
