Shelton State Community College Esports Begins Fourth Season of Competition

September 21, 2023 – Shelton State Community College (SSCC) Esports is now in its fourth year of competition. This season, the team boasts over 20 players competing in seven game titles and counting.

 

SSCC Esports is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) and will compete in NJCAAE tournaments. Team captains for the fall are Trevor Wilson, Peyton Caddis, McLandon Hunt, and Will Smelley.

 

The 2023-24 NJCAAE tournament is organized into three tiers of competition. Competition began early for some players in tiers two and three with tier one officially kicking off Friday, September 15, with the Rocket League team taking on Guilford Technical Community College.

 

SSCC Esports currently competes in seven games including CoD Warzone (T2), Madden (T3), Mario Kart (T3), NBA2K (T3), Rocket League (T1), Smash Ultimate (T3), and Valorant (T3). Intramural opportunities also continue to increase with competition and play open to all students, faculty, staff, and families of Shelton State students.
