Shelton State Community College Cross Country to Host Run for Shelton State 5K

March 6, 2025 – Shelton State Cross Country will host the Run for Shelton State 5K on Saturday, April 12, 2025, on the College’s Martin Campus. The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. near the College’s soccer field and end in the same location. Participants can register at Run for Shelton State 5K. The sign-up fee is based on the registration date: $30 for March registration and $35 for April.

This event comes after Shelton State women’s cross country winning season, finishing 10th at the NJCAA DII meet in November. In addition, Head Coach Charles Tiller was named the Alabama Community College Conference women’s cross-country Coach of the Year.

The race will help raise money for the program and prepare the teams for the upcoming season.

“The 2025 season promises to be our strongest yet, with a nationally ranked recruiting class ready to add depth and talent to our already impressive roster. We’re committed to bringing home more accolades for Shelton State,” said Coach Tiller. “The support we receive from our community and donors is invaluable as we continue to grow our program. Hosting this 5K event is a great way for us to engage with our supporters and raise much-needed funds to help our athletes reach their full potential.”

The Run for Shelton State 5K is open to the community.
