Shelton State Community College Collegiate 100® Hosts Voter Registration Drive to Celebrate Constitution Day 2022

Constitution Day

September 14, 2022 – To celebrate Constitution Day 2022, Shelton State Community College’s Collegiate 100® will host a voter registration drive on Monday, September 19 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the College’s Martin Campus Atrium.  The public is invited to attend.

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens.

“Collegiate 100® is happy to host this important event both for our students and for our community members,” said Eric Prewitt, Collegiate 100 Sponsor. “A representative from the Tuscaloosa County Board of Registrars will be on hand to assist with the process of registration, and we hope that many unregistered voters will take advantage of this opportunity.”

Collegiate 100® provides an avenue for chapters of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. to continue their one-on-one mentoring program for students as they matriculate from high school to college.  The program supports the initiatives set forth by the 100 Way Across a Lifetime organization.  The Shelton State Collegiate 100® chapter was established under the leadership of the 100 Black Men of West Alabama, Inc.
