Shelton State Community College Clinical Medical Assistant Training Providing New Options for Students Interested in Healthcare

October 25, 2021 – As an exciting, challenging, and rewarding option for students interested in a career in healthcare, Shelton State Workforce Development is offering Clinical Medical Assistant Training beginning on November 2, 2021.

 

The WIOA approved course includes 140 instructional hours and 160 clinical externship hours.  Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcare Association Certified Clinical Medical Assistant national examination.  The fee for the course is $2,899 including textbooks.

 

The clinical medical assistant training will prepare students for routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, proper use and administration of medication, and many additional topics of importance.  A high school diploma or GED is required to enroll.
