Shelton State Community College Athletes Recognized for Academic Achievement

July 23, 2021 – Student athletes at Shelton State Community College were recently acknowledged for their academic achievement in the 2020-21 academic year.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recognizes student-athletes for their dedication in the classroom on the NJCAA All-Academic Teams and honors them with one of three NJCAA All-Academic Student-Athlete Awards according to the following qualifying grade-point averages:

NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA

NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA

NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA

In addition to individual student awards, Shelton State Baseball, Women’s Basketball, and Softball were named as 2020-21 NJCAA All-Academic Teams.  Baseball earned this recognition with an overall team GPA average of 3.10, Women’s Basketball with an overall team GPA average of 3.34, and Softball with an overall team GPA average of 3.50.
