March 24, 2022 – Shelton State Community College is now accepting applications for its new Dual Enrollment Student Ambassador program.  This opportunity is available to high school students enrolled or enrolling in the College’s dual enrollment program.

Shelton State Dual Enrollment Student Ambassadors will serve as positive role models for new, current, and prospective students.  They will support recruitment and enrollment for the College by serving as liaisons between Shelton State and their current high school.  Dual Enrollment Student Ambassadors will be eligible for a Shelton State Ambassador scholarship should they choose to attend the College upon high school graduation.

“We consider all students instrumental in the recruitment process,” states Beverly Foster, Director of Dual Enrollment.  “This new group will be vital in sharing experiences and encouraging the participation of other students, and we are very excited about what’s to come.”

To apply, students must have completed one semester of dual enrollment coursework at Shelton State, be a high school junior (rising senior for the 2022-23 academic year), have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and commit to serving one academic year.

The application for the Shelton State Community College Dual Enrollment Student Ambassador program is available on the College’s website at sheltonstate.edu/dual.  The deadline for application is May 1, 2022.
