Shelton State Community College Announces 2025 Holiday Schedule
December 1, 2025 – Shelton State Community College (SSCC) has announced its schedule of holiday events for 2025.
On Tuesday, December 2, the SSCC Music Department will host the College’s Annual Tree Lighting and Sing-Along at 1:00 p.m. in the Martin Campus Atrium. Sacred and secular holiday pieces will be performed, and the audience will participate in a sing-along. The event is free and open to the public.
The Tree Lighting event will also highlight the College’s Here Comes Santa Claus annual giving campaign. Now in its fifteenth year, Here Comes Santa Claus is sponsored by the Shelton State Ambassadors and allows students, faculty, staff, and community members to assist those in need. Visual Arts’ End of Year Student Art Showcase will host a special award ceremony on Thursday, December 4 at 4:30 p.m. in the Cadence Bank Art Gallery on the Martin Campus. This year’s judge, Joshua Hamilton, will be a special guest. The ceremony and exhibition (running through December 14) are free and open to the public.
The Music Department will present its annual Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Martin Campus Atrium. Featuring the Shelton Singers and the Shelton State Jazz Ensemble, the event is free and open to the public.
Theatre Tuscaloosa, a Shelton State partner, will present “Scrooge!” December 12-21 at the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus. Admission is charged. Visit theatretusc.com for more information.
The College will be closed for the holidays Monday, December 22 through Thursday, January 1. Regular hours of operation will resume on Friday, January 2 with spring classes beginning on Wednesday, January 7, 2025.
