Shelton State Community College American Red Cross Hosts Hurricane Relief Drive

Hurricane Relief Donation Drive Flier

October 28, 2017 – The American Red Cross of Shelton State will host a hurricane relief drive from Monday, October 30 until Friday, November 10. Donations will be included in “comfort kits” and will be delivered to victims of the recent hurricanes.

Requested items for donation include eight-ounce bottled water, one-gallon ziplock bags, lotion, deodorant, shampoo, hair combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wash cloths, soap, razors, and shaving cream. All items may be delivered to drop-off locations in the Martin Campus Atrium and in the main building at the Fredd Campus.

“Empathy allows us to connect with one another on a deeper level, reminding us of the human experience we each share,” said Brock Cunningham, Shelton State student and member of the American Red Cross of Shelton State. “Helping those in need, even in small ways, brings out the humanity we all have within us and shows that we have the ability to come together not only as individuals, but as a whole to help those in need inside or outside of our community.”
