October 22, 2025 – Shelton State Community College’s Women’s Flag Football team will host a doubleheader at the Martin Campus on Sunday, October 26. The games will be the team’s first home game appearances for the season. The Lady Bucs (6-4) will face off against Bishop State Community College at 1:00 p.m. and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBW) at 3:30 p.m. Bishop State and LBW will play at 2:15 p.m.
Fans are invited to tailgate before and during the games. Food trucks will be available. The Stillman College Blue Pride Marching Tigers will provide entertainment between the matchups.
“We’re inviting all Bucs fans to come out and watch our Lady Buccaneers take on their rivals,” said Head Coach Douglas Rogers. “We’re excited to play host to Bishop State and LBW, and to show our fans how hard our team has been playing this season.”
Fall 2025 marks the Lady Bucs’ first season of play. The Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) added the sport to its conference lineup earlier this year, making history as the largest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) state athletic member conference to offer the sport. The Alabama Association of Resource, Conservation and Development (RC&D) program, an ACCS partner, donated $50,000 to assist with the flag football launch.
A photo opportunity with Sen. Gerald Allen, Rep. Bill Lamb, Rep. Bryan Brinyark, and Rep. Ron Bolton is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The media is invited to attend.
