March 7, 2018 – Shelton State Community College is requesting community support for their nomination in The Home Depot’s Retool Your School contest for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). The College is competing to win $50,000 for campus improvements.

Funds from Retool Your School are awarded based on public support garnered through social media or direct voting. Tweets, retweets, and Instagram posts using the hashtag #Shelton_RYS18 are considered votes, or supporters may vote directly by visiting https://www.retoolyourschool.com/vote. Voting is currently underway and will conclude on April 15, 2018.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our College as a HBCU,” said Jonathan Koh, Director of Grants. “We hope to rally the support of our community and utilize award funds on much needed campus improvements.”

The Home Depot Retool Your School Grant Program is designed to encourage and recognize innovative projects that contribute to the campuses of accredited HBCUs. Winners of these funds may apply their award toward any campus improvement project.
