Shelton State Athletics to Host Softball Field Ribbon Cutting

March 11, 2026 – Shelton State Community College will celebrate the opening of its newly completed softball field with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, March 21 at 12:30 p.m. on the College’s Martin Campus.

The ceremony will take place immediately prior to the Buccaneers’ home game against Wallace State Community College. Following the ribbon cutting, the ceremonial first pitch will be thrown, and game play will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Students, alumni, and community members are invited to attend the celebration and cheer on the Buccaneers as they take the field. The event marks an exciting milestone for Shelton State athletics and highlights the College’s continued investment in student-athletes and campus facilities.

“This project has been a long time coming for our program,” said Shelton State Athletics Director Cara Crosslin. “We’re proud to see it come to life and excited to share this moment with our players, alumni, and the entire community that supports Buccaneer softball.”

Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
