Shelton State Community College Concert Band to Perform

October 20, 2022 – Shelton State Community College’s Concert Band, West Alabama Winds, will perform their fall concert on Monday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the College’s Martin Campus.  Admission is free, and all are invited to attend.

Shelton State’s largest instrumental ensemble, the College’s Concert Band plays traditional and modern selections from the wind band repertoire.

“West Alabama Winds membership is growing,” said its director and College music instructor, Dr. Elijah Pugh.  “West Alabama Winds is allowing our musicians to explore more of the standard wind band literature as well as work on modern works by younger composers.”

As the Community College of the Fine Arts, Shelton State inspires and prepares the artists of tomorrow.  With scholarships available in all disciplines, students find their dreams well within their grasp. Scholarship applications for fall 2023 will be available in January.
