Shelton’s BEST Robotics Competition Registration Now Open

August 19, 2022 – Registration is now open for Shelton State Community College’s annual robotic competition, Shelton’s BEST. Kick-off Day for Shelton’s BEST will be September 1, 2022, and the 2022 Shelton’s BEST Robotics Competition will follow on Friday and Saturday, October 28 and 29.  All Shelton’s BEST events will be held on the College’s Martin Campus.

A free program for all participating schools, student teams from public, private, or home middle and high schools are invited to register.  Program activities will allow each team to compete in robotic design, software programming, and marketing presentations. As sponsor of the program, Shelton State Community College will provide all kit materials required for each team.

BEST is a non-profit, volunteer-based program designed to inspire students through competitive robotic design.  Through exploration and creativity, student teams are encouraged to consider careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines.  Additionally, Shelton’s BEST enhances marketing-based skills.  The marketing category of competition allows students to brand and advertise their school’s robotic concept.  All teams have the opportunity to be mentored by engineers and technical professionals from local industry.

The top five teams participating at Shelton’s BEST will qualify to compete at South’s BEST at Auburn University in December.
