Shelton State Community College Offering Non-Credit Music Classes

Shelton State offering non-credit music classes through continuing education.

August 19, 2021 – Shelton State Community College is offering opportunities for community members to explore their passions in the arts through non-credit music courses.  Options are available in Concert Band, Shelton Singers, as well as the College’s Jazz Combo and Jazz Ensemble.

 

Offered on the College’s Martin Campus in the Sandra Hall Ray Fine Arts Center, the music courses are available through Workforce Development/Community Education.  Each course requires registration and a $30 fee.

 

“West Alabama is filled with talented artists and musicians seeking to build or share their talents,” stated Rachel Waldrop in Shelton State’s Community Education.  “These courses provide a chance for our credit and non-credit students to share their creativity and learn from one another.”

 

Musical experience is preferred, and course times vary.

 

Concert Band – Mondays, 6:45 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Shelton Singers – Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30 p.m. – 3:55 p.m.

Jazz Combo – Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.

Jazz Ensemble – Mondays and Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.
