Theatre Tuscaloosa to Hold Auditions August 21 & 22

Love Loss and What I Wore

August 16, 2018 – Theatre Tuscaloosa will hold open auditions for Love, Loss and What I Wore, Tues., Aug. 21, and Wed. Aug. 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wilson Carr Rehearsal Hall, located off the lobby of the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus of Shelton State Community College (9500 Old Greensboro Rd).

Love, Loss and What I Wore is the first SecondStage show of the 2018-19 season. Based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, a variety of stories about women are told through the emotional ties they have to their wardrobes. A tapestry of monologues, this show weaves together women’s clothing and the memories each item evokes into a touching performance.

Love, Loss and What I Wore has 29 rotating female roles played by five women. Those who audition should be prepared to participate in cold readings from the script and some improvisational games. All who audition must bring their calendars and list all conflicts regarding the rehearsal schedule on their audition sheets.

Scripts of Love, Loss and What I Wore are available to read in the Theatre Tuscaloosa Ticket Office in advance (recommended); however, scripts may not leave the premises. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Rehearsals will begin August 23, 2018. Rehearsals are generally held Monday through Friday evenings and some Sunday afternoons. There will not be rehearsals on most Saturdays. The final rehearsal schedule will be published after casting.

Love, Loss and What I Wore will be presented October 2-6, 2018 at Green Bar (2209 4th St). All performances will be at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are general admission and cost $8.00.
